No matter the circumstances, all data saved on your TREZOR hardware wallet (cryptocurrency, passwords, U2F security tokens) will remain accessible by means of your unique seed key, composed out of a series of 12 or 24 Mnemonic words. Your seed key is to be kept safe and only offline (i.e. written down or secured by means of a Cryptosteel). By keeping your seed key only offline, the seed key will be protected against hacking.

When setting up your TREZOR hardware wallet for the first time, a seed key will be generated once. This seed key is unique for your TREZOR hardware wallet and will serve as a last resort if you lose access to your TREZOR hardware wallet (e.g. if you don’t remember your pin code or if you lose or damage your device).
